Inspiring Original Music -- Live!

Pianist and composer Tristan Eckerson, whose CDs I’ve been selling at Dog Ears Books since April, will give a performance of contemporary classical music on November 3 at 7 p.m. at the Suttons Bay Congregational Church in Suttons Bay. Seating is limited, so get your tickets in advance.

Tickets are $15 each and available at the Business Helper, Leelanau Books, Dog Ears Books, and the Pennington Collection. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Leelanau Early Childhood Development Commission to benefit their Parenting Communities Program. A reception will follow the performance.

On the subject of Ken Scott, I am down to my last “Back Pages” calendar for 2016, and since it’s the sixth month of the year, the price for that last calendar is my wholesale cost, $10. (In the photo below, there are two calendars, but one sold right after I took the picture.)

My new policy for bookstore windows and bulletin board is to restrict postings to books I’m selling, bookstore events, and items of my personal choosing (mostly related to books). One exception to the general policy is the poster in the window now for the upcoming Leelanau Children’s Choir concert on June 10. Why this exception? Because I want to do all I can to support this group.

"Leelanau Nights," a CD of beautiful, haunting yet peaceful solo piano music by Tristan Eckerson, is now available at Dog Ears Books. I'm listening to it right now. The price is $16, and $2 from every CD sold will go to Leelanau Parenting Communities. This is the perfect music to play in your car as you are slowly cruising the lovely back roads of Leelanau County.
